This blog is the real, much too bias, hopefully funny, brutally honest account of my life.

What pictures teach me about myself...

Last night my family was responsible for sending pictures to my aunt in order for her to create a Photo thing for a Christmas present for someone. All of the digital cameras and coputers with pictures were brought out and we then sat and looked through all the pictures in order to find some "good ones". Well what constitutes a good one? I guess it depends on who you ask. A professional will probably say something about color contrasts and lighting ab all the technical stuff. A mom will say something along the lines of 'if it shows off the smiling faces of my darling children. and a teenager wiil say "anything that's not of me".
Well I'm not a normal teenager- maybe its just the pre-18 yearold syndrom taking over- so i don't mind pictures of myself...at least most of them. But looking through pictures last night taught me some interesting things about myself such as:
-I need to wash my hair EVERYDAY, no matter how clean it 'feels'
- My face has more muscles and forms than I ever thought possible

- I stalk boys a LOT (he's the one with the baseball cap :})

-I think I leave all sense of self preservation at the door when I go to a sleepover

-Short hair was not my thing...
- My eyes are my best feature

-The day I discovered face wash was a glorious day indeed.
-same with the day my braces came off
-tennis shoes don't goe with dresses ever...ever ever...
And one last thing I've realized is that my friends must be good ones because they loved me even with some of the aweful things (i.e. fads, haircuts, bad acne) I only have proof of because of pictures...AND they did most of those things right along with me!

You know a while back I would have wanted to have a bonfire and burn the evidence... and now? I like to look at the pictures and then look in the mirror and smile at the fact that the "beautiful girl" all my parents and grandparents swore was in there, is finally coming out. :)

Waiting.....

Well today is the first day of 'winter break' YAY!!!!
I'm finished with my fall classes and I'm well on my way to graduation...189 days (just so you know) and now, I wait. I wait for graduation, I wait for winter quarter, I wait for BYU,I wait for my birthday and christmas, my Prince Charming... I wait and wait and wait!!!
I've heard that praying for patience is not a smart thing to do because the Lord will gice us that lesson in ways we didn't want/expect...but I DIDN'T EVEN PRAY FOR PATIENCE!!! but guess what? I'm getting a lesson in it.
I'm sure someday I'll look back on this time and think
"look at how silly I was, wanting everything all at once"
but that day hasn't come.
Besides waiting, life is good, work is great, sleeping in is wonderful, and my running competition with mom is even better. (I'm just waiting for visual results :})
